Design strategy. Experience mapping. Interactive prototypes. Product design. Heuristic evaluations. We could go on, but we think you get the idea. Taylor Wegner knows user experience and product design – so much so that he spent the last three years teaching it to others. Prior to joining Fathom, Taylor served as the senior instructor and program manager for the User Experience program at Prime Digital Academy where he coached and mentored more than 100 UX designers.  His impressive skills, paired with his deep desire to understand the needs of others, quickly impressed the Fathom team, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team.

Before his time at Prime, he held UX design roles at Optum and OptumRx, digging deep into the complex world of e-commerce in the pharmacy space. He has worked as an independent consultant and has also designed and brought his own app to market. In his role as senior user experience consultant, Taylor will partner with clients to develop smart, user-centered experiences and product designs.

“Taylor’s drive to do meaningful work has taken him in so many interesting directions, and I’m impressed by the patience and critical thought he’s put towards what his next step will be,” says principal consultant Kat Jayne. “I'm thrilled that it’s Fathom because his ability to think both big picture and handle important design details will be such an asset for our team and clients.”

Taylor has a tangible energy for digging into complex projects and understanding new perspectives. He thrives on developing user experiences that drive value and bring joy to users. Clients appreciate his understanding and supportive nature, and his colleagues look to him for his strategy, inclusiveness nature, and kindness.

“It's clear Fathom is driven by its care for people — both who they’re solving problems for and who they’re solving them with,” he says. “The best projects are the ones I can dive into to help break down and understand the problem, bring people together, and define and prioritize tangible actions. I’m beyond excited to work alongside smart people, doing  this type of meaningful work with great clients.”

Away from work, you can find Taylor spending time with his family or exploring one of his many hobbies. He loves to run, bike, hike, cook, read, do house projects, walk to parks, camp, paddle, snowboard, cross country ski, travel, and any other outdoor activity Minnesota has to offer. He also serves as a mentor for the next generation of user-centered designers.
